10 X-META-X Option FAILSAFE10.1 Operation 10.1 OperationThe X-META-X proxy with the option FAILSAFE detects the breakdown of an X Window server, disconnects it, and deletes the corresponding screens from the configuration. The X Window clients are not affected. Of course, the X-META-X proxy is fail-safe only if the xmetax program and consequently the resource manager are executed on a fail-safe computer. 10.2 Configurationoptions [+|-]failsafe enables or disables the option. However, only options which are covered by the license key (3 Licensing) may be enabled. The default setting - no additional options - corresponds to the X-META-X base product. 10.2.1 Screen10.2.1.1 Fail-safe timeoutfailsafeTimeout timeout_in_seconds determines the period of time, within which the X Window server has to honor X11 requests, before it is regarded as broken. The default value is 20 seconds. |
